Castello di Querceto Chianti Classico 2016
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Chianti|
|Brand||Castello di Querceto|
A classic match with spaghetti with meatballs and mushrooms with garlic and Parmigiano Reggiano. Chianti goes well beyond the tomato-sauce stereotypes, though: Try it with rare char-grilled steaks or even quality burgers, or with sliced Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
The 2016 Chianti Classico is a rich, fruity wine that will drink well upon release. Floral notes add lift and brightness to this super-appealing Chianti Classico from Castello di Querceto. Best of all, the Chianti Classico is a terrific value.
On the ripe and plump side, the 2016 Chianti Classico is a supple and soft expression from Tuscany. The wine would pair nicely next to lasagna with meat sauce and crunchy melted mozzarella on top. The wine offers moderate complexity but compensates with an easy-drinking and accessible personality. The blend is 95% Sangiovese with tiny parts of Canaiolo and Colorino. Some 200,000 bottles were produced.
