Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Monfalletto 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

ntense garnet in color, the nose shows floral and spicy notes perfectly blended: tobacco, cherries, cocoa and fresh raspberry highlights. The palate is rich, full-bodied and elegant. Food Pairing: An aristocratic wine that finds its match with game, jugged hare, braised beef, chamois, saddle of venison, wild boar, deer and pigeon. Superb with dishes garnished with white Alba truffle: cardoon flan with fondue and duck ravioli.

Wine EnthusiastIntense aromas of raspberry compote, forest floor, eucalyptus and oak-driven spice drive the nose on this fragrant red. On the firm, youthfully austere palate, assertive, fine-grained tannins provide support for Marasca cherry, licorice, mint and a note of French oak. Drink 2021-2026.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Barolo Monfalletto is a stunner (especially at this price point). This wine delivers a lot more intensity, power and ripeness than I ever would have anticipated. Black fruit aromas segue to spice, tar and black licorice. There is a hard point of astringency on the close that needs a few more years to subside and integrate.

Wine SpectatorThis evokes eucalyptus, wild thyme, rosemary and spice flavors, with fading cherry and sweet berry fruit. Assertive tannins provide support on the compact finish. Best from 2021 through 2032.
